CHICAGO (February 26, 2013) – Thomas Courtney Jr.—the 2011 candidate for 27th Ward Alderman who had developed a “green” Chicago River revitalization plan acknowledged by U.S. Green Technology—has filed a federal lawsuit against 27th Ward Alderman Walter Burnett Jr., the City of Chicago and two officials from the City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation department; he claims that Burnett unfairly won the 2011 election by stooping to dirty political methods involving theft, threats and abuse of power.
